Fittingly, she had princess EVERYTHING! The plates, decorations, napkins, cake, presents were all princess themed. Needless to say, she is OBSESSED with princesses right now. So Eric and I decided this would be a great year to take the kids to Disney World for their birthdays. (Those pictures are soon to come!) Happy birthday to our sweet little princess! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

Happy 3rd Birthday Ella!
Our little princess celebrated her third birthday! This was definitely the first year that she "got it". She knew as soon as she woke up that this was her special day. We let her pick where she wanted to go to dinner and she picked Red Robin. We had been there only one time in her life so we still aren't sure where she came up with that..thinking some brotherly influence! So we packed everybody in the van and traveled the 35 minutes away to go the restaurant of her choice. She was thrilled but a little scared when they came to sing Happy Birthday to her. She wasn't too sure about a bunch of strangers singing to her but the ice cream sundae seemed to make up for it.

Our Little Angel...now gone one week
It is amazing how much your life can change in a week. Last week at this time we learned that we had to say goodbye much too early to a life that we created. We have spent this past week mourning and grieving for our angel. It has been so hard but we are learning acceptance. We have ordered a garden stone and had a short poem engraved on it. It is the poem that I put in the last post. We will be placing it by a tree that we will plant for the baby. It truly puts into perspective the complete and utter miracle that life is. Our three children are exactly that...miracles. We thank God for them and the short time that we were given to dream, hope, plan, celebrate, and forever love this 4th miracle.
Our Angel Baby
To the baby that I carried
But never saw your eyes
Or tell you how much we loved you
Or ever hear your cries.
You will never be forgotten
Such excitement we had for your coming.
When we realized we'd never hold you,
The feeling we had was numbing.
Our angel baby is who you are.
Our angel baby you'll always be.
Your loving memory will live in my heart
So you will always be right here with me.

When we realized we'd never hold you,

Our angel baby is who you are.
Our angel baby you'll always be.
Your loving memory will live in my heart
So you will always be right here with me.

Heartbroken

We were devastated to learn this week that our little angel that we were expecting to welcome in October will not be joining our family. We miscarried this little one at 10 weeks. It is amazing how quickly we became attached. Spending days and nights dreaming about what the baby would look like, act like, who he or she would take after. And in an instant, as soon as we saw the ultrasound, that was gone. Now something seems missing and incomplete in our family, a permament hole. Please keep us in our prayers. Our hearts are very heavy but trust in God's plan.
