We made it to 21 weeks! My belly is growing by leaps and bounds which means the boys must be doing well! Our last doctor appointment at 19 weeks had the boys at 12 ounces each and measuring exactly right in line with one another. They even had the same heart rate this time at 136. The doctor had commented that the membrane separating the sacs looked extremely thin and they were only able to see one placenta (or the two placentas had fused) indicating possibility of identicals. It is all so confusing and the bottom line is we will not know till they are born. Some people say they still don't know until a DNA test is done. I think we will just wait and see if they resemble each other at all. The doctor also said that everything is going extremely well (knock on wood) and we are in the "honeymoon" period. We have about 4 weeks until the high risk time really comes. The risk of preterm labor increases and complications so we just have to be very cautious and in tune with everything.
We are winding down with school and summer break is less than 3 weeks away! The whole family is just getting over every sickness imaginable. Between ear infections, stomach flu, eye infections, we are done with being sick and want summer to roll on in.
Pardon the disheveled look...it was about my bedtime. The pictures only get scarier from here on out, folks!
