Our Hospital Stay

Since the boys arrived via c-section we were in the hospital nearly five days.  I wasn't too thrilled with having a c-section  but the silver lining was that we were able to spend all that time getting the boys adjusted to the outside world and making sure they were alright.  The nurses were incredible and helped get the babies on an incredible schedule.  They were also extremely helpful with some feeding issues that each of them had.
Ben ended up in the NICU the first night.  He was having trouble maintaining his body temperature and blood sugar.  The nurses were nice enough to let me get out of bed that night and go down and see him even though I wasn't supposed to get out of bed till the next morning.  That was hard to see him all hooked up but we knew it could have been so much worse!  He didn't have any issues with his breathing and that is what would have really worried me.

Poor Baby Ben with his IV in his head.  So sad. :(

Thankfully Ben only had to stay 24 hours in the NICU.  To our surprise, the nurses brought him back the next night at 9:30.  We were thrilled to have the boys back together and know that Ben was ok.  He is so much smaller than Will and seems so much more fragile.

One happy Mama!!

Grandma and the kids were able to come and visit the second day we were in the hospital.  The kids were excited but Andrew was really concerned as to why Ben was not there and why he was in a different place.  The NICU is a hard thing to have to explain to a 6 year old.  Here are the kids meeting Will for the first time.

Ella wasn't too sure.  She claims boy babies are boring and girl babies are more fun.  Why?  Because girl babies have "prettier clothes and are fun to dress".  Haha!
Grandma!  What would we do without you??!! We can't thank you enough for everything!
